Given Data
To clean up the geometry and mesh with the below criteria
To Build
So slit the geometry into 3 cases to show the differentiation of mesh output
Case1
Target length-5 mm
Quality criteria
min length- 3mm
max length - 7 mm
mesh length- 5 mm for both macros & length
Case2
Target length-3 mm
Quality criteria
min length- 1mm
max length - 5 mm
Mesh length- 3 mm for both macros & length
Case3
Target length-1 mm
Quality criteria
min length- 0.5mm
max length - 3 mm
Mesh length- 1 mm for both macros & length
Command Used
View
Topo- to view topology view and different boundary share in geometry i.e- single, double & triple corn, free edges
mesh- to view mesh
geometry check-
Face-new
Existing Surf
Base on the surface selected nearby surface created on edge selected
Fitted
selected open edge creates a surface with a profile specify
coons
profile on loop edge surface created
cons-fill holes to close-loop holes
Clean up-
check up cleanup
inital check up of geometry before clean up
tools- check - geomentry
Mesh-
To mesh the specificed geometry
Mesh quality
specify minimum & maximum element size
parameters- length
length
select the surface to specify target size assign to it
macros
specify minimum & maximum element size
Specify the target mesh size
Spot mesh
Select the view to mesh the specific region that is applied to cases
Procedure
Output
Base model
Cleanup
Name selection on PID
specify a name to the body
outer body
check up of minimal size
Meshing
specify element size as targeted with min & max values select the body to mesh for different cases
Output
case1
outer
inner
case2
outer
inner
case3
outer

Inferences
CASE | ELEMENT SIZE | NO. OF ELEMENTS |
1 | 5 | 9016 |
2 | 3 | 23866 |
3 | 1 | 209916 |
case3 gives good mesh compared to the remaining cases due to 1mm element size which is able to capture the spring area but the element count increases higher with all which is tended to have a high solving time with accurate results
